K'ton tossed the giggling child over his shoulder as he made his way into the sleeping quarters of Vaelya. He probably shouldn't have woken the boy but he was positive Vee would forgive him when he woke her too. Ironth had informed him that the eggs were rattling away on the sands and to hurry, Vaelya needed to be there post haste. So K'ton, being the good rider that he was, wasted no time in making his way towards Vaelya's home. He knew full well Everitt would need to be awoken and taken to the creche, so why waste time waking his mother first?
He set the boy down gently and with mock seriousness, placed a finger against his lips to shush him when the boy made to screech at him. "We've got wake you mom and we should do it like gentlemen eh?" The boy's eyes widened and he gave a nod. With a grin K'ton moved to the side of the bed to crouched down until he was about eye level with Vaelya's sleeping face. "Veeeee…" he whispered, "Vaaaaaaelya." He added a little poke in the shoulder for emphasis and Evritt gave a smothered giggle. He scowled at the sleeping woman and shrugged at the boy, "What do you think? Should we wake her like gentlemen? Or should we tickle her awake?" he asked the boy, tone serious. The lad - bless his heart - thought a moment before climbing to the bed.
Laughter rang out as K'ton shook his head when the boy gave his mother the tickle of a lifetime and he moved to set her robes and shoes beside the giggling mass of mother and son. She barely got a nod out before he did as he suggested, and made a hasty exit from the room. The door opened with a quiet click and he glanced over to where she lead a still giggling Evritt from the room. "Well.. Are you ready for this?" he asked and didn't wait for her answer before hauling Evritt across his shoulder once more and tugged the slightly reluctant Vaelya behind him.
A quick stop at the creche and K'ton poked and prodded the woman ahead of him into the hatching circuit. A firm, "Go" and a blistering glare and Vaelya settled herself with the other gold hopefuls. K'ton himself made his way towards the brown he called his own. Ironth had situated himself closer to the clutch than he usually did and K'ton was a little surprised. K'ton nodded and waved back to his boy as the lad practically danced onto the sands. The stragglers had barely made it to the sands before the first egg shattered around a brown body. He held his breath as the recently hatched dragonets passed his boy by. He gave a wink and a thumbs up towards Leyton as the boy looked his way. He was thankful his son had his general easy outlook on life as many times as he'd been disappointed since he'd started standing. Maybe this time he'd get that dragonet he so wanted.
